Hawaii! Burning The Sugar Cane

I forget the entire story, but during the Harvest of the Sugar Cane, the fields are set on fire. I forget if it happens before the harvest or after, but it's part of the Harvesting process. There was a huge column of smoke in one of the Sugar Cane fields as we drove by one day. Come to find out later, that's what it was from.

In the second picture from the top, there's a tree branch or something in front of the column of smoke. I didn't notice this until after I looked at my pictures, but it looks like a figure with backpack reaching up towards the sky. Very cool...
